Today was kinda great.
Had a great time with my joy. Were chatting on the topic of marriage. Reminds me of my commitment to Christ.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
Mark 12:30
Honestly, this was the first time I truly experienced love. Love is not the fact that one is willing to sacrifice for another, but why one is willing to sacrifice for another. It is not the fact that a couple holds hands, but why they do so.
Same for Jesus. Love is not the fact that He died on that cross for us, but why He died on the cross for us. Love is not the scars from the cruel whippings but rather, the meaning behind every scar. Love is not whether you choose to believe it, but why you choose to believe it. Love is not having your sins atoned for, but the real reason why your sins were atoned for.
Any idea why?
It's because our God simply loves you, but yet he ain't willing to compromise His integrity. So girls, do NOT ever think of changing for the WORSE just to suit your guy. Same for guys too. If you do that, it's as good as going into suicide with the one you 'love', rather than rescuing the one you 'love'. And you know what?
That ain't love. That's pure foolishness.
But God, in His true and perfect form, did not even resort to such a deed to redeem us. Changing Himself would only mean sheer destruction for all of us. Therefore, He did an amazing deed.
He gave up His Spirit.
Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I
commit my
spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last.
Luke 23:46
He gave up His son.
For God so loved the world that he gave his
one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
Last thing, He gave up His life.
"Just as Christ loved us and
gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Ephesians 5:2
And is that all you can do? You can reject him. It's your choice. But after all, do consider the love He has for you, and the actions He did just to convince you that He does love you.
