Imagine that you are walking down a red carpet.
At the sides, you see people with smiling faces, looking at you.
You look beside you; you see the love of your life, holding your hand, walking with you.
Finally, you reach the pastor.
"Will you promise to love the person here with all your life, much to the point of death?"
You say, "I do."
The pastor then asks your fiance the same question.
She says to you, "Dear, you know I love you VERY much. You ARE my hero. I will promise to love you with all my heart. However, I do have one request."
You appear puzzled. She continues.
"You know that I will always love you. However, my request is rather simple and fair. Six days a week I will love you wholeheartedly, but can you grant me in every week one day; just a day, no more, no less, to hang out with my other boyfriends I made before I knew you, have fun with them, date them like I used to..."
You appear raged. Much to your dismay, the pastor, and even most of the crowd, thinks that there is nothing wrong with this simple request.
"Ain't it worth, she giving you six whole days per week for her ENTIRE life!
"Come on, everyone deserves a break, it's only a day."
You desperately argue in protest, "But I am supposed to be her husband! She's supposed to be my wife. We are supposed to devote ourselves to each other, spend time with each other, and love each other for all eternity!"
Now, the same story in another angle.
Imagine that God is walking down from heaven to earth.
At the sides, God sees His angels with smiling faces, looking at Him.
God looks beside Him; He sees you, the one He loves dearly, holding His hand, walking with Him.
Finally, He reaches the cross.
"Will you promise to love this pathetic and sinful human, much to the point of death on a cross? "
He says, "I do."
You are then asked if you would commit yourself wholeheartedly to God.
You say to God, "Dearest Heavenly Father, you know I love you VERY much. You ARE my hero, having died for me on the cruel cross, and saving me from the wages of sin. I will promise to love you with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. However, I do have one request."
God looks at you. You continue.
"You know that I will always love you. However, my request is rather simple and fair. Six days a week I will love you wholeheartedly, but can you grant me in every week one day; just a day, no more, no less, to carry out my old sinful habits that I did before I knew You?"
God appears saddened. Much to God's dismay, the devil, and even most of the crowd, thinks that there is nothing wrong with this simple request.
"Ain't it worth, this human is giving you six whole days per week for an ENTIRE life!
"Come on, everyone deserves a break, it's only a day."
God appears saddened.
He says to you, "But I am supposed to be your God. You're supposed to be my dear Child. We are supposed to devote ourselves to each other, spend time with each other, and love each other for all eternity."
Is it really fair on the way we treat God?
You be the judge. You DECIDE.
